Backend Developer (Estudio Cactus)

(June, 2025 - present)

Working on the backend of a multi-tenant SaaS platform for port and logistics operations, built with NestJS, TypeScript and MongoDB.
Designed several modules as bounded contexts using Domain Driven Design and hexagonal architecture, to keep business logic isolated from infrastructure.
Built an audit log system where events are chained by hash so they can't be silently altered, with periodic backups to S3 and scheduled checks to catch tampering early.
Set up the transactional outbox pattern with RabbitMQ so events get published reliably between services, even if something fails halfway through.
Reworked role-based access control with CASL, moving from broad role checks to specific permission codes that map to what a user can actually do.
Added AI-based document reading with Google GenAI to pull and validate data from identity documents automatically.
Also spent time on performance: Redis caching, distributed locks, background jobs with Bull, and i18n support across API responses and email templates.

Frontend Developer (Relative Engine)

Development of a web application for managing events, library, and blog for CIAT using Next.js.
Handle multiple languages in the application.
Unit tests and functional tests to improve the quality of the code.
Optimized SEO following the best practices to improve the visibility of the library and blog.
Mastered the use of Git and GitHub with branches, pull requests, and conflict resolution.

Freelancer Developer

Developed multi-platform system with web, mobile and backend for client in the e-commerce industry.

Odoo ERP Programmer (Lojagas)

Development of customized modules focused on the accounting department.
Customization of reports in excel and pdf format to automate the workflow between the production area and the administrative part.
Handling of SQL queries to obtain the data required for the reports.
Collaborated with other developers, improving my soft skills and teamwork, while writing cleaner, scalable, and maintainable code.

Stowlog

A modular SaaS platform designed for port and logistics facilities management. Integrates multiple security and operational modules including visitor management with digital check-ins and real-time tracking, suspension management for behavioral sanctions, geoposition tracking for personnel and equipment with 360º facility views, and automated safety induction training for staff and contractors. I'm part of the backend team building it, and I've mostly worked on the audit, legal, training, visits and safety induction modules.

Thrullo is your go-to project management app, offering an intuitive platform that simplifies project organization and collaboration. Create customizable project boards, assign tasks, track progress, and access insightful analytics.

FreeMove

The web platform will show them a detailed statistical analysis of the data collected, such as how many calories they have burned, the kilometers traveled, the average speed and show snapshots of the most relevant moments in their journeys.

Creando Cariño

It's an ecommerce that provides personalized gifts according to the preferences of the user or request a gift that is already shown in the catalog of the platform, which has a great diversity of types of gifts for different special moments.

Arch Studio

It's a website which aims to show the services and projects carried out by an architect, in order to increase the number of clients and thus generate more income. The website has a minimalist and modern design.

Shoppingify

It offers a user-friendly app that simplifies your shopping experience. Create customized shopping lists effortlessly, track your purchase history, and gain valuable insights with detailed statistics.

Sara

A comprehensive platform for CIAT that integrates three main modules: Events management for creating and organizing virtual, in-person, and hybrid events with dynamic registration forms; a Library with resource management, reviews, and public SEO-optimized pages; and a Blog with content management, reviews, and optimized public interface.

UTPL Play

Allows its users to find educational content, provided by the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, in a more enjoyable and organized way according to the different faculties and subjects taught by teachers of the establishment.

About me

I'm a Computer Science engineer, graduated from Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja in 2023. I started out doing full stack work, but over time I kept gravitating toward the backend, and that's where I've stayed.

Before I start writing code, I like to actually understand the problem: how the data moves, what breaks it, how it'll probably be used down the road. It saves me from over-engineering something simple or, worse, painting myself into a corner on something that needs to grow. Having done frontend for a while helps too. I've been on the other side of a bad API, so I try hard not to build one.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, playing video games, go to the gym, spending time with my family or friends, and taking my pet for a walk.🐶
